Rain or shine! See our colonial-era grist mill in action as we gear up for the grinding season on the Shenandoah River. Learn about the history and restoration of this 19th-century facility and its role today as a Certified Organic stone-ground mill.
Visitors will have a chance to tour all three floors of the mill, sample Locke’s Mill grits and baked goods, and partake in a bread-tasting lineup featuring a dozen types of single-grain loaves made with the mill’s heritage flours. Plus, meet animals from our partners at Ayrshire Farm! (Due to forecasted rain, animals will not be attending.)
Admission is free, and a wide selection of freshly ground grains and flours will be available for purchase.
After the March 23 event, the mill will be grinding from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the first and third Saturday of each month through the fall.
